Building Event-Driven Architectures on AWS
Event-driven architecture is key to unlocking the power of cloud computing. In this workshop we’ll cover the basics of event-driven design, using examples built with Amazon EventBridge, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, AWS Lambda and more. You will learn how to choose the right AWS service for the job and how to optimise for both cost and performance. Through hands-on practice, this workshop will give you the skills to integrate event-driven design patterns into your own applications.
For those that may finish early, we will make a second workshop available: Data Protection in Event-Driven Architectures. This workshop dives deep into AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS), encrypting data at rest and enforcing least privilege using customer managed keys (CMKs), key policies and resource policies for serverless workloads.
This is a Level 300 workshop, so some basic knowledge on cloud computing (but not necessarily on the services involved) is assumed. We will kick off the session with a briefing on the services you will encounter and there will be plenty of volunteer Solutions Architects in attendance to assist.

It is a hands-on workshop so you will need your own laptop/charger. Other than a browser, there are no software requirements. A temporary AWS sandbox will be provided to you.
