Build an automated video monitoring system with AWS IoT and AI/ML [CloudCraft Workshop]

Smart video cameras are everywhere: in homes for security, in cars for driving assistance, and in factories for anomaly detection. However, using video data can be challenging because it is often not searchable and may require time-consuming manual analysis.

In this workshop, you'll learn how to use Amazon Kinesis Video Streams (Amazon KVS) to ingest data from your laptop camera, Amazon Rekognition to analyse the video, and Amazon OpenSearch Service to index the inferences. Learn how to make specific objects searchable in the recorded video and get timestamps of their occurrence.

Presenters

Greg Breen is a Senior IoT Specialist Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services. Based in Australia, he helps customers throughout Asia Pacific to build their IoT solutions. With deep experience in embedded systems, he has a particular interest in assisting product development teams to bring their devices to market.

Jen O’Hehir is a Senior Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services. With a strong background in Mining in Western Australia, Jen enjoys helping customers new to AWS build innovative and operationally optimised cloud and hybrid solutions. She has a passion for liberating OT data to empower data driven operational decisions and operating model improvements.

Resources

This is a hands-on workshop so you will need your own laptop/charger. Other than a browser, there are no software requirements. A temporary AWS sandbox will be provided to you.

2pm to 3.30pm on Thursday, 28th March at AWS Perth Offices, Level 9, 240 St. George’s Terrace.

Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in. For those that need some extra time or are looking to dive deep, there will be support available after 3.30pm.
