Cursed Things to do with Lambda Functions
When "serverless" is mentioned, we often hear terms like "best-practice" and "cloud-native" thrown around. Let's look at the opposite and explore what AWS Lambda technically allows us to do but requires us to consider if we care about stability and sanity. By understanding the weird and beautiful ways Lambda can be utilised, we'll gain mechanical sympathy for how the systems we use daily operate. Some highlights include writing your Lambda function in bash, using wrapper scripts to modify runtime behaviour, and setting up a Lambda proxy that's runtime and architecture independent.
