Perth AWS UG grows to 1800+ active members!
Community efforts to deepen and broaden event coverage have been rewarded with strong membership growth, taking us to over 1800 active members in March!
Our 'core series' of meetup events maintained it's monthly cadence in 2024 and attracted new members through both deep exploration of real-world AWS adoption (See Cloud-Native Platforms for Rapid Development: An AFG Case Study) and novel meetup formats for better engaging our community during meetup events. Our "Ask the Community" Fishbowl notably increased not just the number but the diversity of event attendees and on this basis alone is certain to make a return to our schedule of events. Our core meetup series continues to operate in parallel with the new "SaaS Series" of meetups launched in 2023 (see Debugging in Prod: Observability Saves the Day!).
Another driver of new membership is our continuing series of CloudCraft hands-on workshops. Our recent event on how to Build an automated video monitoring system with AWS IoT and AI/ML was another strong driver of membership growth, a trend we expect to continue given the backlog of CloudCraft events we have planned for 2024.
If you are not already a member of our group and are keen to be notified of upcoming events, please join us.
Thanks to our community organisers for all their hard work in serving the community, our sponsors for ensuring we can bring this content to the community and, of course, thanks to our members for your support and for making AWS User Group (Perth/Boorloo) such a friendly and approachable forum for sharing our respective AWS journeys.
